HB 1477 Use of Driver License Information for Fraud Prevention (2026 Session)
Use of Driver License Information for Fraud Prevention: Authorizes DHSMV to provide state agencies & certain third parties with access to certain driver license information for specified purposes with licensee's consent; authorizes identity verification service providers to use DHSMV data under certain conditions; requires certain revenue be deposited into Highway Safety Operating Trust Fund; prohibits such providers from retaining certain information; prohibits third party from storing or selling certain information without licensee's consent. Effective Date: July 1, 2026
