SB 128 Contacting Consumer Debtors (2023 Session)
Contacting Consumer Debtors; Specifying that persons who violate specified provisions of law are subject to sanctions in the same manner as any other consumer debt collector; prohibiting creditors from contacting debtors regarding specified types of debt under certain circumstances; requiring the Office of Financial Regulation of the Financial Services Commission to inform and furnish relevant information to the appropriate regulatory body of the state, the Federal Government, or The Florida Bar if a person has been named in a certain consumer complaint alleging specified violations of law; authorizing debtors to bring civil actions against creditors who violate the act, etc. Effective Date: 7/1/2023
