Summary
County and Municipal Detention Facilities: Creates Florida Model Jail Standards Working Group; specifies municipal or county detention facility shall adopt Florida Model Jail Standards; provides requirements for jail standards; requires inspection; prohibits any person in charge of detention facility from refusing inspection; provides financial penalties for persons in charge of detention facilities who refuse to allow inspections, or for facilities found to be noncompliant with jail standards; requires noncompliant detention facilities to cease operations & contract with other detention facilities. Effective Date: July 1, 2022
