HB 845 Jurisdiction for Guardianship Proceedings (2022 Session)
Jurisdiction for Guardianship Proceedings: Creates "Florida Guardianship Jurisdiction Act"; provides that foreign country is to be treated as state; authorizes court of this state to communicate with court of another state & to make certain requests; provides witness located in another state may be deposed or testify by certain means; provides factors for court to consider when determining significant connection with another state; provides when court has exclusive & continuing jurisdiction over proceeding & when court can decline jurisdiction; provides rules for when petition for appointment of guardian is filed in this state & another state; provides for transfer of guardianship. Effective Date: July 1, 2022
