HB 1223 Disclosure of Online Marketplace Information (2021 Session)
Disclosure of Online Marketplace Information: Requires that online marketplaces require certain sellers to provide specified information to marketplace; requires online marketplaces to verify seller information & provide certain notice to sellers regarding such information, to disclose certain seller information to consumers, & to provide specified reporting mechanism for consumers; provides that violations are unfair or deceptive trade practice & subject to specified penalties & remedies; authorizes DACS to adopt rules; prohibits political subdivisions from regulating online marketplaces. Effective Date: July 1, 2021
