HB 1231 Criminal Sentencing (2019 Session)
Criminal Sentencing: Increases sentence points requiring nonstate sanction in certain circumstances; requires findings for sentences above maximum sentence recommended under Criminal Punishment Code; removes authority for judge to impose sentence up to statutory maximum for probation & community control violations; removes provision limiting appeals of sentences to circumstances when sentence is lower than lowest permissible sentence or other specified circumstances; increases minimum number of sentence points for state prison sanction; revises calculation of lowest permissible sentence in prison months. Effective Date: July 1, 2019
