HB 1273 Prescription Contraceptive Coverage (2018 Session)
Prescription Contraceptive Coverage: Requires health insurance policies & health maintenance contracts to provide coverage for certain contraceptive drugs, devices, products, & procedures without imposing cost-sharing requirements; prohibits imposition of restrictions or delays on required coverage; provides exemption for religious employers; requires religious employers who are exempt to provide notice to employees & prospective employees; provides that eligible organizations may comply with coverage requirements via self-certification to issuers or specified notice to DOH; specifies requirements for issuers receiving self-certification or notice; prohibits issuers from imposing cost-sharing requirements on certain contraceptive items or services or imposing charges on certain entities; requires department to adopt rules. Effective Date: July 1, 2018
