HB 1211 Public Safety (2025 Session)
Public Safety: Establishes Counterterrorism/Counterintelligence Unit within FDLE; revises definitions of "affiliated first responder organization" & "first responder" to include additional personnel in provisions relating to peer support for first responders; revises requirements for reporting of missing persons information; provides exemption from certain law enforcement basic training requirements for persons who have served as intelligence or counterintelligence officers or agents for specified time period; requires certain basic skills training in resilience for law enforcement officers; authorizes first responder amputees to continue to serve as first responders in certain circumstances; creates Florida Medal of Valor & Florida Blue/Red Heart Medal & provides requirements for such medals. Effective Date: July 1, 2025
