HB 1381 Interstate Mobility (2024 Session)
Interstate Mobility: Requires respective boards of occupations, or DBPR if there is no board, to allow licensure by endorsement if applicant meets certain criteria; requires applicants of professions that require fingerprints for criminal history checks to submit such fingerprints before board or DBPR issues license by endorsement; requires that costs associated with fingerprint processing be borne by applicant; if fingerprints are submitted through authorized agency or vendor, requiring such agency or vendor to collect processing fees & remit them to FDLE; requires applicable health care regulatory boards, or DOH if there is no board, to issue license or certificate to applicants who meet specified conditions; requires DOH to verify certain information using National Practitioner Data Bank; specifies circumstances under which person is ineligible for license; authorizes boards or DOH to revoke license upon specified finding; authorizes boards or DOH to require that applicants successfully complete jurisprudential examination; requires DOH to submit annual report to Governor & Legislature by specified date; revises licensure by endorsement requirements for practice of acupuncture, medicine, professional or practical nursing, pharmacy, midwifery, speech-language pathology & audiology, nursing home administration, occupational therapy, radiology, respiratory therapy, dietetics & nutrition, electrology, massage therapy, opticianry, physical therapy, physical therapist assistantship, psychology & school psychology, & clinical social work, marriage & family therapy, & mental health counseling, respectively; authorizes boards & DOH to continue processing applications for licensure by endorsement, as authorized under Florida Statutes (2023), for specified timeframe. Effective Date: July 1, 2024
