HB 881 Insurer Accountability to Insureds (2025 Session)
Insurer Accountability to Insureds: Requires public adjusters, public adjuster apprentices, & public adjusting firms to respond to requests for claims' statuses within specified timeframe; provides reporting requirements relating to universal life insurance policies; provides applicability of specified provisions relating to group health insurance policies; requires motor vehicle insurers that provide towing & labor coverage to disclose certain language on specified platforms or verbally state such language to claimants; requires motor vehicle insurers to pay or to deny or partially deny first-party claims under private passenger motor vehicle insurance policies within specified timeframe; requires written explanations for insurers' decisions relating to claims payments; provides for interest on claims; prohibits specified provisions on claims & interest from being waived, voided, or nullified. Effective Date: July 1, 2025
