Behavioral Health Services for Defendants with Mental Illness: Exempts certain fiscally constrained counties from local match requirements for specified grants; creates pilot programs in certain counties for specified purposes & number of years; requires sheriffs' offices in such counties to establish law enforcement behavioral health intervention units; provides training & program requirements; requires annual reports; provides expiration dates for pilot programs. Effective Date: July 1, 2021
