Emergency Power Sources: Requires PSC to ensure electric utilities have prioritized restoration of electric services to certain medical facilities; revises method for calculating distribution of punitive damages in certain cases; requires claimant who settles a case to provide notice of payments into a specified trust fund; authorizes expenditures from the Quality of Long-Term Care Facility Improvement Trust Fund for a specified grant program related to emergency power sources; revises items to be inspected by AHCA at specified intervals in nursing homes & assisted living facilities; revises components to be included in rules adopted by agency related to equipment necessary & essential to health of residents & emergency planning; revises minimum standards to be included in rules, policies, & procedures adopted by DEA related to emergency power during power outages. Effective Date: July 1, 2018
