HB 1423 Residential Tenancies (2017 Session)
Residential Tenancies: Provides legislative intent; provides definitions; prohibits landlord from evicting tenant or terminating or refusing to enter into residential rental agreement because tenant or tenant's minor child is victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence, or stalking; allows victim of such violence to terminate residential rental agreement; provides procedures to notify landlord; provides for liability for payment of rent; requires landlord to change locks of dwelling unit within specified period; authorizes tenant to change locks of dwelling unit under certain conditions; requires landlord to keep certain information related to tenants confidential; provides exceptions; prohibits waiver of provisions of act. Effective Date: July 1, 2017
