HB 1367 Offenses Involving Minors and Vulnerable Persons (2016 Session)
Offenses Involving Minors and Vulnerable Persons: Increases maximum age at which victim or witness may be allowed to testify via CCTV rather than in courtroom in certain circumstances; includes human trafficking as underlying felony offense to support felony murder conviction; provides increased criminal penalties for human trafficking offenses if victim suffers great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement; specifies that penalties for branding must be for purpose of committing offense of human trafficking; prohibits certain defense to prosecution; includes human trafficking & lewd & lascivious offenses in rules of evidence applicable to sexually-related offenses. Effective Date: July 1, 2016
