HB 527 Social Media Privacy (2014 Session)
Social Media Privacy: Prohibits employer from requesting or requiring access to social media account of employee or prospective employee; prohibits employer from taking retaliatory personnel action for employee's failure to provide access to his or her social media account; prohibits employer from failing or refusing to hire prospective employee who does not provide access to his or her social media account; authorizes civil actions for violations; provides for recovery of attorney fees & court costs. Effective Date: October 1, 2014
